A WALMART shopper is frustrated by the lengthy anti-theft measures implemented by the retailer.
A Walmart customer on X, formerly known as Twitter, fumed about her shopping experience.

The X user reposted a video of a shopper showing their audience the extent to which major retailers are locking away their items.
"Look at this s**t right here, they got candy doing hard time here," the shopper said in the video, picking up a box of candy put away in a clear plastic lock box.
"I mean this is like Hannibal Lecter locked up."
"This might be the only way to solve obesity in America," the shopper joked.

"Every piece of candy needs to be behind bulletproof glass."
"I went to Walmart on the other side of town and they had a lot of stuff locked up like this," the X user commented alongside the video.
Locking away everyday merchandise has been a point of contention among Walmart shoppers as shoplifting continues to be a pressing issue.
Furious users complained about similar experiences in the comments.

"Any store that locks s**t up so I have to hunt someone down and wait 30 minutes for them to unlock it for me is a store I will never shop at again," commented a user.
Other Walmart users said they understand why the major retailer has had to err on the side of caution.
"Perfectly normal," commented a user.
"No one will be able to remain in business with thieves running wild," chimed another.
"It must be stopped."
