'So much better,' drivers exclaim after DIYer updates driveway with $1 Home Depot item - but he will have to mow

A DRIVER has unveiled how they updated their driveway with several natural items on a budget.

In a YouTube video, the driver said they rented several key tools to help them build a driveway out of products found on Home Depot's website for $1.

"This is the driveway restoration project," the YouTuber (@jugglefire) said in a video.

The video, filmed in 2021 during the height of pandemic-era housing renovation projects, starts with a 70-foot-long driveway nestled between two homes.

The driveway's pavement had buckled and cracked underneath the weight of several cars.

To revitalize the driveway, the YouTuber devised a DIY scheme to beautify the lot.

"The first step was to take out all of the potholed and cracked asphalt," the YouTuber said.

"Once we got rid of that, it was time to do some ditch digging."

The YouTuber showed two long troughs cut into the earth and filled with compacted gravel.

Using a gas-powered compactor, the homeowner continued to flatten the surface.

Next, the homeowner spread stone dust through the trenches with a shovel and a wheelbarrel.

A second round with the compactor further pushed the porous material into place.

Once the ground surfaces were laid correctly, the homeowner turned to individually placing concrete pavers into the driveway.

Brick pavers created two lines down each driveway side, replacing the two long troughs the YouTuber once created.

The YouTuber said he made the pavers himself.

The U.S. Sun found similar pavers on Home Depot's website starting around $1.

"We're finally getting an idea of what the final driveway will look like," he said.

Landscape edging was installed on each side of the pavers to keep them in place.

Another layer of stone dust was swept into the crevices of the bricks.

Finally, a long strip of sod was laid above fresh soil between the two rows of pavers.

"With any luck, in a few weeks, I will need to mow the driveway," the YouTuber said.

More than 70 drivers jumped into the YouTube video's comments section to praise the DIY-er's driveway job.

"So much better looking," one commenter said. "Nice work."
