Southwest Airlines put thousands of tickets on sale beginning yesterday until February 22.

Travelers can snag one-way flights for as low as $49 in the airline's cheapest class of seats, Wanna Get Away, or for $59 in the next class up.

All sale flights must be purchased at least 21 days in advance of intended travel and do not include taxes and fees.

Southwest's spring break deal also includes a deal on the Companion Pass, which allows a flyer to bring along a friend for a discounted price.

There are four classes on Southwest flights — Wanna Get Away, Wanna Get Away Plus, Anytime, and Business Select.

Wanna Get Away tickets are nonrefundable but do include two free checked bags and free same-day standby ticket changes.

Southwest Airlines regularly offers flyers deep discounts on flights nationwide, but sometimes makes headlines for other reasons.

The company added an automatic surcharge to ticket fees in September 2023 which caused some flyers to complain.

And Southwest CEO Bob Jordan raised eyebrows when he announced that the company would begin providing red-eye flights last year.

"It’s a logical evolution for us," Jordan told the Dallas Morning News.

"We have the aircraft, it’s a great way to use an asset that you already have and use it more productively which means more hours in the day.
