Spread the love David Joseph Steinberg (February 12, 1965 – March 16, 2010) was an American actor best remembered for his portrayal as Meegosh in the 1988 Ron Howard picture Willow. He was born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles.Steinberg was born in Los Angeles and was just 3’1″ in height when he died. His adoptive parents were also born with dwarfism. Steinberg was born and reared in Queens, New York, where he excelled at comedy as a method to overcome his shyness as a result of his low height while in school. At Messiah College in Pennsylvania, while still a student, he had his first taste of theatre acting. After graduation, he decided to pursue a career in professional theatre. Performances in prestigious theatre organisations such as the Guthrie Theatrical in Minneapolis, the Center Stage in Baltimore, and the New York Shakespeare Festival were among his theatre credentials. The Grammy-nominated national touring production of The Wizard of Oz (as a Munchkin) as well as Baz Luhrmann’s production of La bohème in Los Angeles and New York City were also among his other stage credits. The Hebrew Hammer and Love & Sex were among Steinberg’s other film credits, despite the fact that he was most recognised for his part as Meegosh in Willow. The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Zoey 101, Charmed, The Equalizer, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd were among the television shows in which he appeared, including a cameo appearance in the 2007 episode “Giving Up the Ghost.” In 2004, Steinberg relocated to the Los Angeles area. When he died on March 16, 2010, he was 45 years old and lived in Valencia, California. The Los Angeles County Coroner found that Steinberg committed himself by hanging after a brief investigation. Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Plantation, Florida, served as the site of his burial.
