A MISSING woman was found dead in Memphis, Tennessee, after reportedly flying there before Christmas to visit her boyfriend.
Memphis police provided the tragic update Thursday afternoon in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, which reads in part: "We can confirm that Domonic Davis has been located deceased near the overpass at Sam Cooper Boulevard and High Point Terrace.
The statement continued: "The circumstances and details surrounding her death are currently under investigation. We will release additional information once it becomes available and the manner of death can be determined."
Domonic Davis, 40, was last seen in Memphis' High Point Terrace neighborhood on December 30, according to the Memphis Police Department.
She reportedly flew to Memphis from Las Vegas to visit her boyfriend before Christmas - and Domonic's mom became worried when she didn't show up to church on December 31.
Police report that Domonic's mom said that she contacted the boyfriend, who told her that he kicked Domonic out of his car near a pawn shop on Summer Avenue in Memphis.

After Domonic Davis was reported missing in Memphis, her friends and family came to the state to look for the 40-year-old.
Dozens of people gathered where Domonic was last seen to hand out missing persons flyers.

"This is an ongoing investigation," the Memphis Police Department told The U.S. Sun.
"We will provide an update once additional information is available."
High number of missing people in Tennessee
With 361 cases reported, Tennessee is the 10th U.S. state with the most missing persons, according to Wisevoter.
The rate of missing people in the state is five per 100,000, which is in line with the national average.
The outlet also reports that the state has 13 reported Amber Alerts.
Domonic's last Facebook posts
Domonic Davis' last posts on Facebook were on New Year's Eve, when she shared a few reflective text posts.
"This year was a beautiful blessing to me," she wrote in one.
"I have absolutely nothing to complain about! Looking forward to the new year blessed and highly favored."
In another, she shared: "I use to look for the new year parties. Not time this tho God been too good! Ima bring it on in at the church house! Start my year with a prayer and the masters plan."
Domonic also posted a 15-minute live stream.

Boyfriend 'put her out'
Domonic's mom reported that she contacted Domonic's boyfriend, who told her that he put Domonic out of his car near a Memphis pawn shop on Summer Avenue in Memphis.
MPD said that officers checked that area, as well as local hospitals, but were unable to find her.
Domonic flew to Memphis before Christmas
Domonic Davis reportedly flew to Memphis from Las Vegas to visit her boyfriend before Christmas.
Her mother told police that the 40-year-old flew to Memphis on December 24, but a post on her Facebook page from December 22 implies that she might have flown earlier.
