Foodies have found the ultimate Easter chocolate bunny - and it's so big that we're not sure if anyone would be able to finish it in one sitting.

That's right, according to bargain lovers, Costco is selling a humongous chocolate bunny that's ''the size of a very small child''.

One customer of the supermarket, @carbootisfull, took to TikTok to inform fellow Easter super fans about the find - however, the deal has caused quite the debate online.

''I'm in Costco and I'm thinking 'This Easter bunny looks absolutely delicious'.

''It was really heavy to pick up,'' she said in the video, where she revealed the ''huge'' size in comparison with her hand.

''Genuinely the size of a very small child.''

However, it wasn't so much the impressive amount of handmade Belgian chocolate that left her stunned - it was the price.

Upon checking the price tag, the shopper discovered the supermarket was charging £29.99 for the 3kg bunny.

''This feels a lot, right? Easter has gone mad,'' the customer said, describing the price as ''expensive''.

After sharing the sweet treat online, however, the woman's reaction left fellow social media users divided, as some reckoned the price was fair.

Many, for example, thought the bunny would retail for way more, as one woman guessed: ''I was expecting at least £80!''

Someone else agreed, adding: ''Considering one tiny box of chocolates is a tenner in shops this is actually a good deal.''

''Tbf [to be fair], a 180g bar of Cadbury is £2, which is about £34 for 3kg worth… I was actually expecting the bunny to be more,'' another chimed in.

''That's not terrible, it's absolutely massive,'' a fourth agreed with the others.

''That's actually a bargain,'' a foodie said.

''Normal large Easter eggs are like £15 and they are no where near this amount of chocolate.''

Keen to bag one of these treats? The STAS Belgian Chocolate Easter Bunny is ''hand decorated'' and made of the finest ''Belgian milk chocolate''.

The vegetarian-friendly chocolate ''is a stunning centrepiece and a great gift'' - and we're sure kids will love it.

The origins of the Easter bunny

The Easter bunny is a long-eared, cotton-tailed creature, who hops from house to house delivering delectable goods at the end of the Lenten period.

The much-celebrated character has been a feature of American Easter celebrations for centuries, but experts say the symbol originated from an ancient pagan tradition which honoured the goddess of fertility and spring.

During the festival of Eostre, the goddess symbol was a rabbit and traditionally represented fertility.

German immigrants first introduced the mythical character to the US in the 1700's, and there the tradition of egg giving was born.

Over two hundred years later the tradition crossed the Atlantic and hollow chocolate Easter egg was sold in the UK.

Now over 80 million Easter eggs are sold in Britain and the average child will consume a shocking eight eggs each year.
