James Madison faced a third-down-and-2 on their own 32-yard line with 9:56 left in the first quarter.

ESPN's cameras pointed toward the Thundering Herd home crowd.

The broadcast showed a man standing up and wearing a visible "GAME F***ING DAY" t-shirt.

One second went by and ESPN cut to a fuzzy test pattern screen before returning to the game feed.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react shockingly at the vulgar t-shirt.

One commented: "At least you know the game is live."

Another wrote: "Good lord I love college football."

While a third added: "C'mon ESPN camera guy!"

James Madison would go on to beat Marshall 20-9.

The Thundering Herd mustered just 169 total yards in the loss.

As for the Dukes, they recorded 405 total yards.

Quarterback Jordan McCloud completed 21 of 31 passes for 264 yards along with a touchdown and interception.

James Madison is now 7-0 for the season while Marshall fell to a 4-3 record.
