Black British designer Mary-Ann Msengi has caught the eye of many with her bold new fashion label, Farai London – not least Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion and model Lori Harvey, to name just a few.
Tapping in to the extra-sexy, cutaway looks that are ultra popular right now, the brand aims to encourage women to embrace their bodies, giving off that MTS-level Hot Girl energy we all aspire to.
The brains behind the brand, Mary-Ann, has a pretty inspiring story too. After graduating from the Royal College of Art, she got straight to starting her label, timing it to launch in July 2020 alongside the gradual relaxations of COVID restrictions – so we could all have an ‘out out’ dress to be proud of. Within a year, her designs were stocked at the likes of Selfridges and Revolve. Impressive.
She's giving back, too, by sharing her knowledge of how to launch a small business over on the Farai London TikTok page – getting candid about everything from funding to creating original prints and gaining a celebrity customer base. What a woman.
