She has acted in a number of films, but is perhaps most remembered for her part as Gail Stanwyk, the wife of the villain and love interest of the title character, played by Chevy Chase, in the film Fletch. She is well renowned for her role as Mattie Blaylock, Wyatt Earp’s common law wife, in Tombstone (1993). She also starred in the films Bye Bye Love (1995), Denise Calls Up (1995), Fast Food Nation (2006), and Parkland (2007). (2013). Wheeler-Nicholson has appeared in episodes of Seinfeld, Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Sex and the City, Boston Public, and Boston Legal on television. From 1987 to 1988, she starred in the NBC sitcom Beverly Hills Buntz, and in 2001, she was cast in the ABC daytime serial opera All My Children. Wheeler-Nicholson relocated from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas in the mid-2000s.
