Jiffy Lube awards scholarships to Treasure Valley high school students

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Jiffy Lube recently awarded three Treasure Valley high school students with a "What Drives You?" scholarship.

Teagan Perryman of Skyview High School is the overall scholarship recipient and will receive a $4,000 scholarship award on behalf of Jiffy Lube. Ciara Kelly of Timberline High and Synovia Bates of Columbia High will each be awarded $1,000 as runners-up.

Students were asked to submit a 500-word essay detailing what drives them now. Finalists were selected and asked to submit a short 1-2 minute video that expanded on the essay.

The “What Drives You?” scholarship program is open to all teen drivers as well as students enrolled in drivers ed in the Treasure Valley area high schools.

Jiffy Lube is now accepting essays for the 2020-2021 school year, and has added an additional $1,000 scholarship award as an added incentive and support for students.

Jiffy Lube will also donate $500 to the Treasure Valley high school with the most student applicants. For the 2019-2020 school year, Borah High School submitted the most essays.
