Kylie Jenner just got realer than ever on reality TV.
Hulu's The Kardasians, a reboot of the infamous E! reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, is famous for bringing us moments of jaw-dropping drama. After all, the Kardashian family certainly know how to get under each other's skin.
But sometimes, The Kardashians features moments of startling honesty, too. Like all great reality TV stars, the Kardashians aren't afraid to get raw and real in front of the camera. And that's exactly what happened in the latest episode when Kylie Jenner, Kim K's younger half-sister, opened up about her experience with plastic surgery as a teenager.
While chatting with bestie Stassie Karanikolaou (who herself has previously discussed her own breast implants), the influencer and reality star confessed that she was only 19 when she decided to get breast implants. “You know I got my breasts done before Stormi — within six months of, like, having Stormi,” she said, "not thinking I would have a child when I was 20 —like, they were still healing." Jenner gave birth to her first child, Stormi, at 20.
Jenner went on to reflect on her decision to get implants, explaining that she now believes she wasn't ready to make the decision.
"I had beautiful breasts, like natural tits," she said. "Just gorgeous, like, perfect size, perfect everything. And I just wish, obviously, I never got them done to begin with. I would recommend anyone who is thinking about it to wait until after children."
Jenner then explained that she had changed her opinion about implants since having children. “Obviously I have a daughter. I would be heartbroken if she wanted to get her body done at 19,” she said. "And she's the most beautiful thing ever. I want to be, like, the best mom and best example for her and I just wish I could, like, be her and do it all differently, because I wouldn't touch anything."
It sounds like Jenner does have more than a few regrets about her breast implants.
Let's face it — plastic surgery is a pretty complicated topic. While we love to see women taking ownership of their own bodies and getting surgery when and where they want it, sometimes, the pressure to conform to beauty standards can leave young women seeking out plastic surgery before they're ready.
As Jenner's story reminds us, turning your body into the ideal shape isn't always all it's cracked up to be — especially when you're still young. It's great to see the star opening up about her experience and her regrets — after all, it could make all the difference for her younger fans.
