Ma’Khia Bryant latest – Hundreds of demonstrators gather for vigil for teen shot dead by cop in Columbus

Kayleigh McEnany slammed her comments, saying on Fox News' Outnumbered that Psaki "holds an incredible megaphone here.

"And to demonize this officer, to dub the police as racist which is basically what she did by saying that action was not justified or merited when this young girl was about to lose her life at the end of a knife, it’s so damaging.

"It's exactly right to put the microscope on that because even President Obama was criticized for saying the parents of Michael Brown will never get to hold him again.

"And now we know the facts of that scenario and that the police officer involved was absolved by the president's own Justice Department. But even President Obama was criticized for going that far.

"[Psaki] has not only gone that far, she’s gone even further to directly tie this to race without evidence, without proof. And she should be asked about that directly from the podium."

PSAKI CRITICIZED FOR 'DAMAGING COMMENTS' ON MA'KHIA SHOOTING

Kayleigh McEnany has slammed Jen Psaki for "damaging" comments on the fatal Ma'Khia Bryant shooting that tied the teen's death to race.

The ex-White House secretary for former US President Donald Trump condemned her replacement for "demonising" the officer involved and "dubbing the police as racist."

Psaki told reporters on Wednesday: "She was a child. We're thinking of her friends and family in the communities that are hurting and grieving her loss.

"We know that police violence disproportionately impacts black and Latino people in communities, and that black women and girls - like black men and boys - experience higher rates of police violence.

"We also know that there are particular vulnerabilities that children in foster care, like Ma'Khia, face."

ACTIVISTS RECALL DEATH OF TYRE KING

Protests over the police shooting of Ma'Khia Bryant last Tuesday also recalled the death of another teen in Columbus in 2016.

Tyre King, 13, was shot dead by police after he pulled what later turned out to be a BB gun as he ran away from them.

"From Tyre to Ma'Khia, justice for our babies," protesters chanted on Sunday.

Organizers called for the resignations of top city leaders, including Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther.

They have also called for the officer who shot Bryant, Nicholas Reardon, to be arrested.

BRYANT'S AUNT MOURNS

Ma'Khia Bryant's aunt Myra Duke told protesters on Sunday that her niece was sorely missed by the family.

"It doesn't seem real," said Duke.

"Ma'Khia was an angel. This situation didn't have to happen like this; the system failed her."

Duke also thanked activists for their dedication to Bryant.

PROTESTS CONTINUE

Protests over Ma'Khia Bryant's shooting continued on Sunday in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Around 200 people gathered at Goodale Park.

"Today we are here to continue to lift up the life of Ma'Khia Bryant," organizer Hana Abdur-Rahim told the crowd.

"I don't need a video to know she was a child and she deserved to live."

FRANTIC CALL

Ma'Khia Bryant's foster mom revealed how she received a "frantic call" ahead of the shooting.

Angela Moore said she got the call from one of her former foster kids, seen on bodycam video wearing pink and jumping out of the way as Bryant brandished a knife at her.

"Mom, get home. Where are you? They're going crazy," Moore said her former foster child said.

"She said they shot Ma'Kiah and I said, 'Huh?' It was just crazy."

When Moore got the call, she started praying immediately, just before receiving messages from people saying "I'm sorry."
