This means you can do things like bold or italics so your notes stand out appropriately.

Android Police was first to spot the long overdue feature.

It's rolling out now, so look out for an update if you use Google Keep.

"This highly requested feature enables you to customize and add emphasis to your text through bolding, underlining, italicizing, and heading styles," Google said.

"You will be able to access rich text formatting in existing Keep notes on Android devices in the coming weeks."
