Collinsworth was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals and spent seven years in the NFL.
A three-time Pro Bowler, his searing speed saw him surpass 1,000 receiving yards in four NFL seasons.
He caught 417 passes for 6,698 yards and 36 touchdowns before retiring in 1988.
Standing 6ft 5in and tipping the scales at 192lbs, Collinsworth was a downfield speed threat for the Bengals - but wasn't famed for his physical prowess.
