According to TMZ, Michael, 24, filed for divorce from Vanessa on June 19.
The actress announced she was having a baby boy in Instagram posts from her gender reveal party last week, but the Chicago White Sox pitcher was not mentioned or pictured at the gathering.
During the festivities, Vanessa wore a flowy maxi dress as she shared the happy news of her baby's gender with close family and friends.
In addition to showing off the party's decorations and sharing the moment she learned she was expecting a boy, Vanessa also posted a picture of a sonogram and a photo of two pregnancy tests.
The actress- who stars as Toni Topaz on The CW show- emphasized that she was hesitant to share her pregnancy news, though explained that she wanted her fans to find out directly from her.

"I do want to keep this chapter of my life private but did want to be the first to share the news. I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January.
"It's almost like everything I thought mattered in this life has completely changed…We're here for such a greater purpose and life is so precious."
She added: "I can't believe how much growth & strength you've already given me as your mom. It's like God knew I needed you, my angel.
"The universe works in mysterious ways but always times everything the way it was meant to be. Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing."
