Staind (/?ste?nd/ STAYND) is an American rock band that was established in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1995 and has been active since since. Over the course of 17 years, the band was comprised of Aaron Lewis, who sang and played rhythm guitar, Mike Mushok, who played lead guitar, Johnny April, who played bass, and drummer Jon Wysocki (who left in May 2011).
Up to this point, the band has released seven studio albums, including Tormented (1996), Dysfunction (1999), Break the Cycle (2001), 14 Shades of Grey (2003), Chapter V (2005), The Illusion of Progress (2008), and their self-titled debut album (2011). Over the course of their career, the band has achieved five number-one hits and sold more than 15 million albums worldwide.
