HAILEY, Idaho (CBS 2) — The Sharps Fire in Blaine County has grown to 15,000 acres prompting mandatory evacuations for some areas.
Authorities say mandatory evacuation orders are in effect for families on Little Wood Reservoir Road and Flat Top Road north of the reservoir. The Little Wood Recreation Area has also been evacuated.
There is also a pre-evacuation notice in effect for families on Fish Creek Road.
BLM and local fire agencies are battling the fire burning in grass and timber. Additional resources have been ordered.
There is no estimated containment or control at this time.
The Blaine County Sheriff's Office has closed Muldoon Canyon Road is closed at the west side of the Ee-da-ho Ranch entrance and on the east side at Baugh Creek Road. Deputies are asking the public to avoid the area.
Little Wood and High 5 Creek Recreation area have been evacuated and are now closed.
