Who was American socialite Slim Keith?
Nancy “Slim” Keith, also known as Lady Keith of Castleacre, was born on July 15, 1917, in Salinas, California.
She earned the nickname 'Slim' for her tall, thin figure, which captured the attention of the fashion world.
Her modelling career started after landing on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar by the age of 22.
She built a name for herself in New York City - where she remained a fixture on the best-dressed lists at the time for many years to come.

The fashion icon died on April 16, 1990, from lung cancer attributed to smoking at the age of 72.
It is not known her exact net worth.
But some reports estimate the wealthy socialite could have amassed a fortune of $5 million.
Was Slim Keith married?
Keith was married various times to very important men from the film industry.

She married 'Scarface' director Howard Hawks who was the first of three husbands.
She also married Howard Bacall and Kenneth Keith, Baron Keith of Castleacre.
It was during her last marriage when Keith met Truman Capote.
As the writer became more popular, the author began hanging around socialites whom he called "The Swans."
In 1958, Capote began working on a novel called Answered Prayers which reportedly followed the lives and secrets of Slim Keith and other women.
The book was postponed to release, however, Esquire posted the first four chapters in 1975 and 1976.
When Keith read the chapters, she realized Capote's novel was an exposé of her life under pseudonyms and sometimes the real names.
As a result of her depiction as the fictionalized character Lady Coolbirth, Keith completely shut Capote out of her life.

The latest season follows the story of Truman Capote and the dramatic social fallout with the socialites he named "his swans".
