Why is 'Jaden Smith dead' trending?
TikTok and Twitter users made baseless claims that Jaden died following a road accident.
A video began circulating on TikTok showing a montage of photos of Jaden with a "R.I.P" caption.
The montage also appeared to show a car involved in a high-collision crash.
The car was not Jaden's and the Karate Kid actor is alive and well.
It comes after fans were left confused by a tweet Jaden posted on February 24, 2022, in which he wrote: "Invisible".
And because Jaden didn't follow up with any explanation about his post, followers began to grow concerned.
Fans have been quick to debunk the claim, thouhg.
One tweeted: "Jaden Smith is alive. Wondering why a group of TikTokers announced him dead in a car crash."
Another posted: "I checked Will Smith’s page several times, Jada’s page and Willow’s page I think it’s just a popularity stand! Jaden Smith is alive and kicking trust me!"
A third wrote: "To those who put up that hoax story saying Jaden Smith died in a car accident, you’re all some next level sick.
"Imagine the agony his family must have gone through until they confirmed it was a hoax. 1 minute, 5 minutes, 1 hour. Y’all need to check yourselves."
Then Jaden also posted on his Instagram page several hours after the rumours broke out.
The post, which was a repost of a clip, was about how breath work could help with self-exploration and digging into one's consciousness.
Jaden, 23, is the son of actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.
He has two siblings: Willow, who is 21, and Trey, who is 29.
Jaden has starred in several movies and in 2006, made his debut with his dad Will in the film, The Pursuit of Happyness.
He is also a rapper.
